Continuing Japanese Ink and Watercolor Painting Studio Online

Demystify watercolor painting in this fun and supportive class! Create expressive landscapes, still lifes and botanical paintings with lots of instructor feedback. Practice a variety of techniques, including flat wash, dry brush, mixing colors, wet-into-wet, creating effective edges and more. Paint from both direct observation and photographs. Landscape Painting in Watercolor: Scenes of New England -- New!

Arlington Center for the Arts

Arlington, MA

Paint a variety of landscapes in watercolor by practicing multiple techniques, including flat wash, dry brush, mixing colors on both the palette and the paper, wet-into-wet, creating effective edges and others. By the end of the first session, students will be comfortable with creating value studies and using these techniques to create landscape paintings. Photos will be provided. Students are also invited to bring photos of their favorite landscapes or travel photos as references.

Botanical Art in Colored Pencil 2 Day Workshop

The Southern Vermont Arts Center

Saturday, May 31 & Sunday, June 1

10 am - 4 pm

Manchester, VT

Draw botanical subjects with colored pencils, connecting with the colors of nature. Practice techniques for blending, layering colors, creating depth and form, “underpainting” with colored pencils and more–with step-by-step instructions. Subjects include flowers, fruits, funghi, peppers and leaves. Participants are invited to bring botanical materials that inspire their creativity! Instructor will provide techniques, strategies and direction for any project of interest. Beginners and experienced students are welcome.​​​
